The Women's Club of Regent Square was founded upon the ideas of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. First organized on October 29, 1895, the purpose of the Federation was to unite the influence and interests of Pennsylvania's women, and therefore promote legislative, civic, educational, moral and social issues. When the Women's Club of Regent Square was founded in 1921, their objective was to create and encourage community spirit and promote both civic and philanthropic measures. The membership of the Club was restricted to only those women residing in the Regent Square area.
